#4 Plant Care Guide - Cheese (Monstera)
by Sofia Eiras Antunes
I’m a monstera, natural from Central America, where I climb up the trees to a height of 20 metres.
My leaf holes eventually grow towards the edge and open up as I grow and mature. My heart-shaped leaves are a symbol of a long life and the honouring of respected people.
SUN - keep me in light shaded places. Not suited for intense, direct sun.
WATER - wait for my soil to dry out before giving me a drink.
Once a month over the growing season, feed me with a balanced fertiliser. Help me breathe by wiping my leaves and removing dust.
I'm not pet-friendly but can perfectly co-exist with pets if both are given the right space. I can be irritating to cats, dogs, and humans only if foliage consumed.
